2021: A Memoir

Justin is currently in his 15th year practicing dentistry at Jefferson City Dental Care. Bobbi is in her 11th year of homeschooling at Johnson Lakeside Academy. Brock is in his second year of a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (first year in Boise, Idaho; second year in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic). Austin and Brandon are seniors attending Williamsburg Academy online. Eden is a freshman at Capital City High School. Kade is in sixth grade doing a few online classes, and Lars is (mostly) enjoying first grade with Mom. Here are a few things we’d like to remember about 2021:

January:

*COVID vaccines.

*Brandon flew to Utah for a classmate’s birthday party.

*Bobbi spent a weekend with her mom and sisters in SLC.

*Justin took the kids skiing in Wyoming.

*Justin’s parents moved into a new house closer to our side of town.

*Our fat cat, Lucy, was gone too soon.

*Wanda Vision.

February:

*Austin and Brandon turned 17.

*Kade smashed his fingers in a log splitter.

*Lake of the Ozarks froze over.

*Justin and Bobbi enjoyed a warm weekend in Miami with Aaron and Nancy Koeppen.

March:

*Austin and Brandon flew to Utah for another classmate’s birthday party.

*Justin went skiing in Utah with his dental school buddies.

*Spring break in Orlando (Universal & Disney).

*Off-roading at SMORR.

*Falcon & the Winter Soldier.

April:

*Hatching chicks in our kitchen.

*Homeschool prom.

*Another prom.

*Eden, Kade & Lars performed in a musical stage production of The Jungle Book.

May:

*Mountain biking in Bentonville.

*Kade’s 11th birthday.

*Justin, Bobbi, Austin & Brandon about froze to death running the Tough Mudder in St Louis.

*Justin and Bobbi drove to Ft. Smith, Arkansas to see Aaron Watson in concert.

*Bought a new lake house. 

*Sold the old lake house.

*Bobbi & Eden performed in a musical stage production of The 10 Virgins.

*Sophie Hunt came to stay for a month.

*The first ever Morgan Battalion Cousin camp!

June:

*Austin & Brandon went to the Church prom.

*Eden & Lars went to Summer school.

*Bobbi & Eden flew to Idaho for Christian & Jessica Wilkins’ wedding reception and breakfast with Brock.

July:

*Lots of Johnsons came to visit.

*Johnson Shut-Ins & Elephant Rocks.

*Austin and Brandon drove to Utah for Williamsburg Academy’s camp Elevation.

*Loki.

August:

*Justin and Bobbi celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary.

*Youth conference.

*Lots of friends came to play at the lake.

*Big Surf water park.

*Drove to California, stopping in Boise for lunch with Brock.

*Visited the Redwood forest and took a scenic drive up the Oregon coast.

September:

*Aaron Watson concert at the Lake of the Ozarks.

*Countless rounds of Cover Your Assets.

*Eden’s 14th birthday.

*Branson Mountain Man off-road triathlon.

*Silver Dollar City

*New hot tub!

October:

*Capital City High School Homecoming.

*Where Pigs Fly farm.

*More off-roading at SMORR.

*Twenty One Pilots concert in Columbus, Ohio.

*Brock finally made it to the Dominican Republic!

November:

*Justin and Bobbi flew to Utah for Chaz and Karen Gonzales’ wedding in Utah.

*Austin and Brandon met up with classmates from multiple states for a week of fun in Missouri.

December:

*Wake surfing on December 3rd. New personal record. 

*Jefferson City Christmas parade.

*Auschwitz exhibit in Kansas City.

*Hawkeye.

 It’s been a blessed year. Thanks for being a blessing in our lives.
