We had a "mad scientist" party for the twins' 7th birthday today. We conducted fun experiments such as combining corn starch with water, liquid starch with glue, and Diet Coke with Mentos. We blew up Ivory soap in the microwave, dissolved baking soda in vinegar, built molecular structures with tooth picks and cheese balls, and decorated cupcakes with gummy bugs & worms. I'm pretty sure the kids had a blast, and I was soooo thankful for the beautifully sunny weather (and husband with a bobcat) that made our driveway accessible for all of our guests. Happy birthday, boys! Mama loves ya!
Pre-party snow plow:
Aunt Bev helped make "oobleck" by combining corn starch & water:
Equal parts liquid starch, Elmer's glue & water resulted in some awesomely gooey slime:
Diet Coke & Mentos made a sweet soda geyser!
Cheese puff molecules:
Creepy crawly cupcakes:
Brandon put a cheese puff on his cupcake that lit right up with the tricky trick candles. Whoops!
