Cedar Camp

Friday night we had a great time camping at a little place called Cedar Camp. It was so much fun! Before now, the only tent we owned was the little two-man tent Justin and I purchased when we were first married. That would hardly work for us now, so on Thursday, we went to Sam's Club and Bass Pro Shop and loaded up on camping gear!!! We bought a HUGE 8-man tent, two fishing rafts, a king-size blow-up mattress, a cooler and an ice chest! We were all set!! We started loading the van, but realized that it would be easier to take the truck, so we threw all of our gear in the back of the truck. We got to the campground around 4pm and realized that we had forgotten our tent!!! We had left it in the back of the van!!! Oops. Luckily, we were only an hour away from home, so I just hopped in the car and drove back to get the tent. Finally, by 7pm we were all set up and ready for a fun night in the great outdoors!!!

As a bonus, our campsite was right next to the sandbox! Brock, Austin and Brandon had a blast digging in the sand and making sure it got all over the tent, truck, and their dinner!

After a while, we headed down to the river and let the kids float around in the rafts. The current was very slow, and there was a low-water crossing over the road with a little waterfall that dropped into a large pool of water. The current flowed in a big circle here, so Justin thought it would be fun to push the kids off the little waterfall and let them float around to the beach. As soon as Justin pushed the raft into the water, the boys all started screaming for their lives! They thought for sure they were going to float on down the river and never see us again! Justin had to dive in and "save" them from what they thought was almost certain peril!

Once they figured out that they weren't going to be lost downstream, the boys couldn't get enough of riding around the "lazy river" in the raft.

Eden loved the water...

...but she didn't love her life jacket....

Jim and Cherie locked their keys in their car and had to break in....

Mike had fun floating on his water noodles and keeping an eye out for snakes!

A few more photos of the fun...

Oh that picture of your kids lookin' upset in the raft, is priceless. They definitely look like they are in a panic. What a fun camping trip. Camping is so much more fun with friends! And water to cool off in!

That picture is priceless. I was laughing my butt off!!! So sad, but so funny!!

We bought a huge tent like that about 4 years ago at Costco, yeah, haven't even opened it yet!! I think we will in our backyard before Josh starts school though:)

Avery hates her life jacket too. I don't blame these little babes though, it right up in their faces!

And I have to say MAN Brandon is one good looking kid!!!!

Even though you had some crazy moments, sounds like a fun time!
