Pioneer Day!

July 24th is a special day to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On this day, we commemorate the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon Pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. To celebrate the occasion, our branch held a Pioneer Day celebration at President Adam's future-home-site. We had a barbecue, played pioneer games and caught frogs, fish & snakes at the pond! It was a lot of fun!!!

After trying the stilts in Nauvoo, Brock begged and begged for some stilts of his own. We decided we could make a few sets and bring them to the branch activity. The kids (and adults until one of the young men leaders broke the foot hold off of one of the stilts) all had a blast balancing on them:

This caterpillar is a lot smaller and prettier than the snakes some of the priesthood leaders were catching:

I love how all of the primary girls follow Eden around wherever she goes. She definitely is NOT starved for attention!

Happy Pioneer Day Everyone!!!
