The Week Before Christmas....A Year In Review

'Tis the week before Christmas at the Johnson household;
The ring 'round the toilet is starting to mold.
The children are playing, the house is a mess,
Their mother is blogging...it's what she does best.

Today she's composing this year's Christmas letter.
Writing in prose, she hopes makes it better.
The year was a good one, like others before,
Despite bad economy, high gas prices and war.

At the first of the year, we wanted to go green.
Recycling, cloth diapers were part of the scheme.
That lasted, of course, 'til about half past April.
Then Huggies and Pampers once again became staple.

Justin and I went to Nashville for fun.
Eden came too, and Garth Brooks was number one!
When we got home, Justin's job ended.
It was time to move on to something more splendid.

Searching
for the best practice, he could take his pick.
It was hard to know which one would do the trick.
Then finally he found one, right here close to home,
Jefferson City Dental Care is what he would own.

Being the boss has proven to be
A little bit stressful, but worth every fee.
Some of the perks are a new car and Mac,
A bigger paycheck, and a pat on the back.

His patients all love him, he's good at his skills:
Filling and drilling, prescribing some pills.
We're all proud of Justin, he's really the best
Dad, husband, dentist and all of the rest.

On Sundays, he sits on the stand every week
In the branch presidency, he truly is meek.
He still loves to fish and golf when he can;
With his buddies, he watches UFC like a man.

Bobbi (that's me) is loving her life.
She's happy to be the good dentist's wife.
The mother of four, each making her laugh,
Going to MOPS, helping out the school staff.

She sings in a choir, works out with friends,
Shops at the outlets, and holey-jeans, mends.
The first grade room mother, the primary pres,
Teaching her children to do what she says.

Bobbi had surgery...twice in one year!
Two hernias repaired; Lasik helped her see clear.
Every two weeks she goes to the spa
Microdermabrasion makes her face feel real raw.

Now on to Brock, our own first born son.
We couldn't be prouder of anyone.
The boy is a sweetheart, a helper, and smart.
He loves to read books, and make things in art.

Brock's in the first grade, he likes monkey bars,
He's taking gymnastics and wants to drive cars.
At practicing piano, he does very well,
Though he'd much rather play on the Wii, I can tell.

Austin is a big barrel of fun.
He has as much energy as anyone.
He LOVES going to preschool! He rides on the bus,
He has lots of friends, and none of them cuss.

Breaking his arm (again) didn't slow him down,
At school and at home, he's always the clown.
In his tumbling class, his cartwheels are best
Tornadoes, kung fu, running faster than the rest.

Brandon's a softy, we like him that way.
He likes having fun, always ready to play!
Wearing holes in his jeans, helping a friend,
Smart as a whip, a perfectionist to no end.

Brandon loves preschool, his teacher is nice.
His best friend's a girl, but don't ask him twice.
He plays well with others, he brings us such joy.
Thank you, dear Brandon, for being such a good boy.

Eden's our princess who turned one in September.
Splashing in toilets, she'll never remember.
She shakes her head "no", when she really means "yes".
Pulling books off the shelves, she makes a big mess.

She says "ba" for bottle, and "here" when she's through.
Mom and Dad are her servants, and her brothers are too.
Always happy to play, she won't ask for much,
Everyone loves her, a whole great big bunch!

We're joyful this Christmas, we truly feel blessed
For all of the miracles that we have witnessed:
Our family and loved ones, this country so great,
Our Savior whose birth we all celebrate!

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" We shout to all that will hear!
Merry Christmas to you and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
